Treats for Just Being Me

Treats are a good thing. As I have mentioned before, I love treats. They are my reward for doing something good, expected, or even just for being me.

My humans keep many treats on hand at all times. I get specific ones based on the (goodness) level of what I have done, so I try hard every day to be a good companion and please my humans.

If treats are a reward, then what just happened at the IRS?

"A week after Americans were rushing to make sure we had the proper April 15 postmark on our tax returns, the Treasury’s inspector general for tax administration revealed the IRS paid $1.1 million in bonuses to more than 1,100 employees who didn’t pay their own taxes. It doesn’t end there, though. The Los Angeles Times reports those same tax scofflaw employees received more than 10,000 hours of extra time off and received 69 faster-than-normal paygrade increases." (Tammy Bruce, The Washington Times)

"The avoidance of taxes is the only intellectual pursuit that carries any reward."
John Maynard Keynes (1883 - 1946)
