Senator Harry Reid (D-NV) apparently hasn’t heard about all those people crossing the border this year. Either that or he was referring to some other country during recent comments on border security.
After commenting on recent legislation from Representative Henry
Cuellar (D-TX) and Senator John Cornyn (R-TX), Reid suggested there are no
security issues at the border.
“I believe our number one concern should be this narrow issue of
how we take care of this situation we have on the border,” he said. “As I’ve been
told, the Cornyn-Cuellar legislation covers a lot of other issues other than
the problem we’re having on the border. Had we done comprehensive immigration
reform, we wouldn’t be having this issue. And everyone here, the border is
secure. “
Is he serious?
An estimated 60,000 illegal immigrant children are expected to
enter the United States in 2014. That’s 10 times the amount that did so in
2011.
